Cemetery registers go digital | Shepparton News

Murray River Council today launched a new digital platform for managing local cemetery records.

Families and friends can now conduct historical investigations in a live database where they can access cemetery records and information.

This includes relevant dates, plot information and aerial images of sites.

Mayor Chris Bilkey said it was an exciting enhancement to the council’s memorial and burial services.

“The administration of our cemeteries is a huge task undertaken by council staff, so the new online platform will significantly tidy up the creation and maintenance of our records,” said Cr Bilkey.

“And even better, the software will now provide the community with real-time access to cemetery information and records through our website.”

The digital platform covers the six operational cemeteries, including Barham, Mathoura Lawn, Mathoura Pioneer, Moama, Moulamein and Tooleybuc.

He will help with new sites, burial bookings, interments of cremated remains, monumental works and client enquiries.

You can research the platform through the council’s website at www.murrayriver.nsw.gov.au/Our-Services/Cemetery-management.

If you have any concerns about any of the information displayed, please contact the Council’s Cemetery Operations team on 1300 087 004.
